Report: Xiaomi says ready to preinstall Russian soft on devices
MOSCOW, Feb 18 (PRIME) -- Xiaomi is ready to respect Russian law on preinstallation of the country’s software on locally sold gadgets, news agency RNS said on Tuesday, quoting the Chinese company.
“We are committed to compliance with all Russian laws and, if necessary, to installation of additional software, we’ll do it in a working mode,” a company spokesperson said.
Preinstallation of applications from local developers is thoroughly tested and is actively used by Xiaomi.
Earlier, Samsung Electronics said it will respect Russian law on compulsory preinstallation of local software on smartphones, computers, and Smart TV sets with no changes in the company’s plans for work in the country.
President Vladimir Putin signed the law that bans sale of electronics, like smartphones or computers, without preinstalled Russian software from July 1.
